Upper

The upper of the KELME Nebula is crafted from a stitched synthetic leather material. Right out of the box, it feels surprisingly soft and comfortable. While not the thinnest option available, the upper offers a bit more padding, making it ideal for players who prefer a more cushioned feel.

For those who enjoy a barefoot sensation when striking the ball, these cleats might not deliver that ultra-thin feel. However, if you appreciate a thicker, more protective upper, you’ll likely find the KELME Nebula to be a solid choice. On the other hand, the tongue is very thin and made from a suede-like material, adding to the overall comfort of the cleats.

Heel

The heel of the KELME Nebula cleats features a small external heel counter, offering a bit of extra support. Inside, the heel area is well-padded, providing a snug fit around the ankle. The lockdown is surprisingly good for a cleat in this price range and the furthest back lace holes help secure your foot into the cleat.

Soleplate

Where the KELME Nebula cleats really stand out is the soleplate. Designed with a TPU outsole, it contains a mix of triangular and circular studs across both the forefoot and rearfoot. This stud configuration is ideal for both FG (firm ground) and AG (artificial ground) surfaces, though the cleats lean more towards AG, making them a great choice if you play frequently on artificial turf.

The studs provide excellent traction, and the sole is pretty comfortable right out of the box—no need to worry about uncomfortable break-in periods. Whether you're playing on synthetic surfaces or shorter, firmer natural grass fields, these cleats perform quite well. However, they may not be the best choice for soft ground or wet conditions.

Weight

  • The Nebula weighs in at around 9 ounces in a size 8.5 US.

  • If you're used to lighter cleats, the Nebula might feel a bit more substantial, but they don’t feel overly heavy on the pitch.

  • However, these cleats are definitely meant more for players who prefer a bit more structure and durability vs the super lightweight feel.

Fit and Sizing

KELME has updated the fit for the Nebula model, and many players will appreciate the improvements. For reference, I typically wear a US size 8.5, and the length of the cleats was just about perfect.

The forefoot and midfoot areas are fairly wide, while the cleats taper slightly towards the heel and toes. If you have a medium or wide foot, you should be able to go true to size without any issues. For players with narrow feet, it might be worth considering going down half a size for a snugger fit.

As far as comfort goes, the KELME Nebula cleats feel great on foot right away, with little to no break-in time required.

Conclusion

All things considered, the KELME Nebula FG/AG cleats are an excellent choice for players looking for quality and comfort without the steep price tag. The combination of a padded synthetic upper, a versatile soleplate, and a comfortable fit makes them ideal for players who primarily play on artificial turf or shorter natural grass fields.

For under $50, the KELME Nebula provides a solid option for both beginners and more experienced players who are seeking an affordable and reliable pair of cleats.
